I would like the world to know that recovery from addiction is possible and is happening everyday. Individuals are overcoming their challenges, turning their lives around, and experiencing success.
Therapy plays a big role in helping people recover. Cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical-behavioral therapy, motivational enhancement therapy, and positive psychology all can assist individuals in assessing their lives and making necessary changes.
Often it takes multiple attempts to beat addiction. Remember that people with addictions don’t necessarily choose to live that way. Although they can make bad decisions, addiction hijacks the brain and interferes with the thinking and decision making processes just as fundamentally as any mental illness.
Never give up on your friends, family or clients.
